Our advice and casework team enables our community to make urgent and long-term changes in their lives for the better. We support hundreds of individuals and families to regularise their immigration status, liaise with legal aid lawyers, understand and access their rights and entitlements, live in safe housing, avoid destitution, access healthcare and education, find employment, and start rebuilding their lives.

Our caseworkers and support staff – a team of seven – provide advice, support and signposting with the assistance of volunteer translators on the following issues:

  • Immigration – we are regulated by the Immigration Advice Authority (IAA) at Level 2 Immigration and Level 2 Asylum and Protection
  • Navigating the asylum system, including finding and working with legal aid lawyers
  • Housing
  • Welfare benefits
  • Healthcare
  • Education
  • Finances
  • Other related issues.

The team also collect evidence and note patterns on issues affecting our refugee, asylum-seeking and migrant community, which is shared with permission with other NGOs, lawyers, and local and national government in order to push for change, better treatment and dignity for those we support.
