Leyla Williams

Deputy Director

Leyla grew up in West London and has been part of the team since we first opened in 2018. She works with Joanne to develop the centre, organises our advice service and access to legal aid, coordinates communications, and can be found working on any number of different ways to support and work with our community.

Previously, Leyla coordinated the Unaccompanied Minors Project at the Jewish Council for Racial Equality, supporting young asylum-seeking people new to London. She has worked in communications at Columbia University, and at the Lower East Side Tenement Museum of immigration history in New York. At UCL she did her Master’s research with migrant communities on the Edgware Road. She is active in migrants’ rights campaigning groups.
