Mehri Madadi

Outreach Coordinator

Mehri Madadi

Mehri moved to West London from Iran over twenty years ago. She first joined us as a volunteer during the COVID pandemic in 2020, helping to run our free clothing shop and translating in Farsi and English. Now as Outreach Coordinator, Mehri organises practical support for asylum-seeking people living in temporary accommodation across West London. Having built her life in the local community, she is passionate about welcoming newly-arrived people.

In Iran, Mehri taught literature and Farsi. After moving to the UK, she worked as a teaching assistant. Gaining a teaching Diploma from Canterbury Christ Church University, Mehri then taught various vocational subjects to adults. Most recently she worked for the Octavia Housing Trust as a charity shop manager, where many of her staff and volunteers were from refugee and migrant backgrounds.
